Floor Plan

The Sound of Kiss facilitates an amorous ambience in which couples digitize their love while kissing. One wears a headset and the other's tongue is affixed to a magnet. When they kiss, the magnet and the electro-magnetic sensor interact to play spontaneous music. Since tongue is limited in length in our mouth, sensors around mouth effectively detect location of tongue to compose rhythmical tunes. Also in PD software, there are four minor notes on side and six major notes on the other side to help it create diverse sound texture. The musical composition depends on how far one's tongue is away from the other's lips/tongue and their style of action.

The Sound of Kiss suggests visualization of abstract concept of love. Love as one of human emotions has long been buried in the abyss of oblivion so visualizing love is a daunting task. Most of us agree with that kissing is a natural expression of love. While the audience experience this project, I hope they can find out love which we, in general, can neither see nor hear through an act of revealing their emotion.
